QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable
qualifications for this position: High school diploma or GED (required). Associate
or bachelor’s degree in health sciences, exercise science, recreation, or a
related field (preferred). Experience in facilitating fitness classes
and/or wellness-related events. Strong knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness principles;
or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training which
provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

(e.g., Microsoft Office
and other applicable computer software), mobile phone, fax machine, copier, scanner, telephone,
and other standard modern office business equipment; fitness equipment.
Employee has exposure to chemical compounds
found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); works
in or around crowds; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally
distraught persons; this is considered light work and the employee must
demonstrate the ability to perform the physical demands required of the
position in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s physical demands
strength ratings.
In cases of
emergency, unpredictable situations, and/or department needs, may be required
to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects heavier than D.O.L. strength ratings
recommend.
JOB DUTIES in order of importance
The Wellness Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting and expanding the corporate wellness program at our second office location, 3400 Morse Crossing. This full-time position will be responsible for delivering personal and small group training sessions, assisting with the development of wellness initiatives, and facilitating wellness-related events to promote a healthy and vibrant work culture. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and wellness, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be proactive in bringing new ideas to the wellness program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
Respond to employee inquiries regarding wellness offerings and provide guidance as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of: budgeting; office practices and procedures; *Agency/department goals and objectives;
*Agency/department policies and procedures; *workplace safety practices and procedures; *personnel rules and regulations; computer software; community resources and services; project management; government structure and process; state, federal, and local laws and/or regulations; local geographical area; English grammar and spelling; exercise science; HIPAA rules and regulations surrounding bona-fide wellness programs.
Skill in: computer operation; use of modern office equipment; fitness equipment.
